THIS IS CRAZY!

"THIS IS CRAZY!" is a play written and directed by V (formerly Eve Ensler), that benefitted the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Through my employment with the NAMI, I was given the opportunity to design the deliverables for this one-night-only play.

The design suite for "THIS IS CRAZY!" was created to capture attention while maintaining a sense of simplicity that reflects the play’s format—a series of powerful monologues performed by a remarkable cast, including Mark Ruffalo, Jane Fonda, and Marisa Tomei.

The color palette incorporates blue shades inspired by NAMI’s established brand identity, reinforcing the connection to the organization’s mission. To create emphasis and energy, additional contrasting colors were introduced, ensuring the title stood out across all applications. A key detail in the typography—the substitution of the “A” in CRAZY with a stool—symbolizes the intimate nature of the performance: a series of monologues delivered with only an actor, a stool, and their story.​​

Ultimately, the goal of the design was to intrigue viewers, convey the energy of the production, and remain adaptable across multiple applications. It has also been featured in multiple press releases, including BroadwayWorld.com, and showcased on the Symphony Space website.
